Six Years in Hadley, Four Years in Bernardston: Celebrating the Communities That Make Heirloom Home

More Than a Western Massachusetts Dispensary

When we chose the name The Heirloom Collective, the word “collective” mattered.

We never wanted Heirloom to simply be somewhere you stop for the best flower, the finest concentrates, delicious edibles or great pre-rolls. We wanted our stores to become part of the communities around them.

Over the years, that has meant collecting canned food and monetary donations alongside local hunger-relief organizations, supporting the Amherst Survival Center, holding food drives, organizing dog adoption initiatives and creating opportunities for our customers and employees to give back.

It has also meant getting active outside the dispensary.

Our Heirloom 5Ks brought runners, walkers, employees and neighbors together in Bernardston while supporting hunger-relief efforts in Western Massachusetts. The events became one of our favorite examples of what the “Collective” part of Heirloom can mean when people come together around something bigger than cannabis.

We’ve been fortunate to take part in other awesome local events throughout the Pioneer Valley as well, from The Grass Is Greener in Hadley to local festivals, cannabis events, yoga classes, pop-ups and community gatherings.

Those moments matter because Western Massachusetts isn’t simply where we do business.

It’s home.

Six Years of Craft Cannabis in Hadley

Our Hadley dispensary has grown into Heirloom’s flagship retail location, serving both adult-use customers and medical patients from Hadley, Amherst, Northampton, South Hadley, the UMass community and throughout the Pioneer Valley.

Over six years, plenty has changed. Our menu has grown, our product lineup has evolved and the cannabis industry around us looks very different than it did when we started.

What hasn’t changed is our obsession with the plant.

Our shelves bring together Heirloom-grown flower, concentrates, vapes, pre-rolls, cubes and house products alongside cannabis from producers we believe deserve a place next to them.

Whether you’re stopping in for an old favorite or looking for something completely new, our goal has always been simple: offer cannabis we’re excited to put our name behind and people we’re excited to help you discover it.

Four Years in Bernardston

Our Bernardston dispensary turns four this year, but Heirloom’s roots in Bernardston run deeper than the retail store.

It is home to our cultivation operation and has become one of the places where the two sides of Heirloom meet: where many of our products begin and where customers get to experience the finished result.

Today, our Bernardston dispensary serves customers from Greenfield, Northfield, Deerfield, southern Vermont and communities across Franklin County.

For us, there is something special about being able to grow cannabis in Bernardston and then offer that flower only a short distance away to the community surrounding our facility.

The People Who Keep Heirloom Growing

Behind every jar, pre-roll, concentrate, vape and cube carrying the Heirloom name is an incredible cultivation and production team working at our Bernardston facility.

This is where the Heirloom story really starts.

Genetics are selected. Plants are cared for through every stage of their lives. Harvests are brought in, dried and finished. Products move through production and packaging before eventually reaching our dispensary shelves.

Great flower doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from people paying attention to the details every single day.

Few strains represent that work better than Kitchen Sink, one of Heirloom’s staple cultivars and a strain that has become closely tied to who we are as a brand.

Year after year, our cultivation team has continued dialing Kitchen Sink in, protecting what makes the cultivar special and delivering the consistency that has turned it into a familiar favorite for Heirloom customers.

Kitchen Sink represents exactly what craft cannabis means to us: great genetics, careful cultivation and people who genuinely care about the final product.

That same attention goes into Black Lime Reserve, Zombie Muffin, Grape Pie, our Legacy Collection and every cultivar growing in our facility.

Our cultivators, harvest teams, post-harvest staff, production employees, extraction teams, packaging staff and everyone else behind the scenes are what make Heirloom possible.

As we celebrate another year, we’re celebrating them too.

They keep Heirloom growing.

Quite literally.

The Heirloom Legacy Continues

This year also gave us an opportunity to celebrate something at the center of everything we do: genetics.

The Heirloom Legacy Collection was created to celebrate influential cultivars and the genetics that helped shape modern cannabis.

The collection currently includes classics like Grandaddy Purple, Pineapple Express, White Widow, and Sunset Chem, each brought into our grow with the same attention we give every Heirloom cultivar.

And we’re not finished.

Three new cultivars are joining the Legacy Collection:

• Sour Diesel, a fuel-forward, sativa-dominant classic with Chemdawg 91 and Super Skunk genetics.
• Sweet & Sour Diesel, a brighter, sweeter expression of the Diesel family with citrus, fruit and unmistakable fuel.
• Lemon Berry Candy OG, a Las Vegas Lemon Skunk × Lemon Grape Bubba Temple sativa dominant hybrid bringing together lemon, ripe berry and candy sweetness.

The Legacy Collection gives us a way to honor where cannabis has been while continuing to explore where those genetics can go next.
